March is wrapping up, and even before the final sales
numbers are announced, it seems that Chrysler will be celebrating a very good
month.
Edmunds is estimating that Chrysler will have an 11.1
percent sales rise in March 2014 compared to March 2013, and the unit sales for
Chrysler are estimated to reach 190,684. While other automakers have struggled
for a 1 percent or 4 percent gain, Chrysler is one of the few automakers to get
a double-digit sales percentage rise.
It is especially surprising that Chrysler has performed this
month, considering that March 2014 only had 26 selling days, and March 2013 had
27 selling days.
The sales numbers for the month of March put Chrysler in
close competition with Toyota who sold 207,531 units. Unlike Chrysler, however,
Toyota did not have a substantial rise in sales compared to March 2013, only a
1.1 percent rise compared to Chrysler’s 11.1 percent rise.
