Philanthropic Chrysler Foundation Will Donate $25,000 to Flood Recovery Group

Communities affected by Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee will be getting some help from Chrysler's philanthropic organization, the Chrysler Foundation.

This morning, the Chrysler Foundation announced that they would be donating $25,000 to AGAPE Love From Above to Our Community. AGAPE's programs range from prison transition/assimilation assistance to child care and daily lunch programs, but the donation from Chrysler is specifically going towards hurricane and flood recovery efforts.

This donation by Chrysler is really amazing for several reasons. First, a corporation is making an effort to give back to the community, even while the country as a whole is going through rough economic times. Second, they are giving back to a cause that has fallen out of the headlines. Many people who were not directly affected by Hurricane Irene or Tropical Storm Lee forgot about the aftermath of these storms so quickly. By making this donation, Chrysler is bringing focus and headlines back to the communities affected by these storms.
