October Sales Up 27 Percent, Boosted by Ram's High Sales Numbers

October is normally a slower month for car sales in the United States, but last month, Chrysler Group LLC saw a 27 percent jump in sales compared to last year.

The sales were boosted by the Jeep Compass, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Ram pickup trucks which all did very well in October. By themselves, Ram pickup trucks saw a 21 percent increase in sales which is almost unheard of considering the tough economy.

There are several reasons why Chrysler Group LLC saw such a significant leap in sales this month, specifically for their SUVs and pickup trucks. First, Chrysler has gotten some really great press lately. The recent Consumer Reports survey, which ranked Chrysler very high in reliability, is a solid endorsement. Additionally, people are looking to enjoy the rest of their autumn weather, and they want automobiles that can handle camping and driving in the country. The Jeep Compass and Jeep Grand Cherokee are already popular vehicles, and when people think about driving the back-roads of America, they think of Ram pickup trucks.
